Ephemeral City
6x18”Newsprint magazine with spray painted additions
Ephemeral City is a publication which came about organically during walks around Williamsburg, Brooklyn, where I have lived for the better part of 4 years. I began to notice temporary building numbers throughout the neighborhood, and saw it as a sign of not only the change Williamsburg has faced but the ephemerality of living in New York overall. The neighborhood has shifted rapidly over the last 20 years, which has been documented in this project through images from Google Street View and city tax photos from the 1940s and 1980s.
